The 500W motor peaks at 750W against a 65-lb high-strength carbon steel frame, which is what makes the X1S work as a daily rider — it's noticeably lighter than the X7 (65 lbs vs 87) but uses the same drivetrain. UL 2849 certified, Class 2 capped at 20mph, hydraulic disc brakes, front suspension. Standard street-legal package, executed properly.
Range is where the X1S sits between the M16 and the X7. Single battery (500Wh, 48V 10.4Ah) gets you 28 miles — enough for a real commute with margin. Dual battery doubles it to 56 miles. 5-6 hour charge from empty per battery. The right pick if commuting is what you actually do
The X1S strips away what you don't need for a real commuter and gets the price and weight where they need to be. Same motor as the X7, same safety certs, but 22 lbs lighter and $200 cheaper at MSRP. That weight difference matters when you're carrying it up stairs, loading it on a rack, or just pedaling it without throttle. Front suspension where it matters
Front fork absorbs road shock, broken pavement, curbs, and the general abuse of daily street riding. Doesn't add the weight of full suspension. Makes the daily commute genuinely more comfortable without giving up the X1S's lighter frame.
Throttle, display, and clean cockpit
Adjustable thumb throttle — mount it on the left or right side. Backlit LCD display shows speed, battery life, mileage, mode. Shield-shaped headlight integrates with the dashboard. Nothing buried in menus, nothing in the way.

The X1S is the right pick if you want a clean street-legal commuter without the extras. If you want fat tires and more presence on the road, the Macfox X7 is the upgrade. If you want full suspension and the most power Macfox makes, the Macfox X2 is the trail-ready option. If you want a smaller frame for a younger rider, the Macfox M16 fits 3'11" and up. And if you want off-road dirt bike performance, look at the Arctic Leopard XE Pro S or Rerode R1 — those are real dirt bikes, not e-bikes, and they'll do things the X1S isn't designed to do.
