How It Works

Local pickup

If you're within about 50 miles of our Brentwood shop, you can pick up your order in person — no shipping fees. Once you place the order, we'll email you within one business day to confirm pickup details and schedule a time. Bikes typically take 1-2 business days to prep; most parts are ready same-day or next-day.

Bring a valid photo ID matching the order name. If you're picking up a bike, bring a truck, van, or trailer — we'll help you load it.

Local delivery

Within 50 miles of Brentwood, we'll deliver your bike personally for $75. That covers Jack's time and gas, and includes a basic walkthrough at delivery so you're not figuring out your new bike alone in the driveway. We'll contact you within one business day to schedule a delivery window, and we'll send you our ETA the morning of.

Freight shipping (bikes)

For bikes shipped anywhere else in the continental US, freight is a flat $250. Bikes ship via freight carrier and usually take 5-10 business days to arrive after they leave our shop. We'll email tracking once it's shipped, and the carrier will contact you to schedule final delivery once your bike reaches the local terminal.

Freight delivery requires a signature, so plan to be home or arrange someone to receive it. If you live somewhere that's hard to reach by truck (rural mountain road, narrow alley, etc.), let us know before ordering and we'll figure out the best approach.

Standard shipping (parts)

Parts ship via UPS or USPS to anywhere in the continental US. Most parts ship within 1-2 business days; oversized items like wheels and batteries take 2-3 days to pack and ship. Transit time depends on where you are — Bay Area customers usually see deliveries in 1-2 days after shipping, East Coast customers in 5-7 days.

We don't break parts into shipping tiers based on weight alone — we use real-world packing reality. A small box of throttle ships free. A wheel in a wheel-sized box is $75. The tier you'll see at checkout depends on the part you're buying.

Installation

Most aftermarket parts can be installed yourself if you're comfortable with hand tools and willing to follow a manual. Each part page lists install difficulty and what tools you'll need.

If you'd rather have us install it, we can — but it's billed separately from the part itself. Once you've ordered your part, contact us and we'll quote the labor based on the specific job. Install fees range from about $50 for simple swaps to a few hundred for things like full controller installs that need tuning.

For local customers, the most common workflow is: order the part online, drop the bike off when it's ready, we install and tune, you come pick it up. We'll send you a separate Stripe invoice for the labor — the part stays on your original order.

FAQ
I selected local pickup but I don't actually live within 50 miles. What happens?

If you place a pickup order from outside our 50-mile zone, we'll catch it during order review and email you within one business day. We'll give you two options: pay for freight shipping ($250 for bikes, the standard parts rate for parts), or get a full refund. We'd rather catch it before you're waiting for an order that's not coming.

How long until my order arrives?

Our part of the timeline is processing — that's how long it takes us to pack and ship after you order. Most parts ship in 1-2 business days. Oversized parts (wheels, batteries) take 2-3 days. Bikes take 1-2 days to prep before they leave for local delivery or get handed to the freight carrier.

After that, transit time depends on the carrier and your location. Bay Area customers often see parts in 1-2 transit days. East Coast customers in 5-7 transit days. Bikes via freight take 5-10 business days regardless of region.

Do you ship to Hawaii, Alaska, or US territories?

Not currently. Freight to Hawaii or Alaska runs $400-800 per bike and isn't something we can absorb. If you're in one of these areas and really want to order from us, contact us before placing the order — we may be able to work something out, but it'll be priced specifically for your situation.

Do you ship internationally?

Not at this time. We focus on the continental US.

Can I ship to a PO Box?

Small parts shipped via USPS — yes, no problem. Anything via UPS or freight (so most medium and large parts, and all bikes) — no, we need a real street address. Freight carriers won't deliver to PO Boxes.

Will my freight bike delivery require a signature?

Yes. Freight carriers require an adult signature on delivery for valuable items like bikes. The carrier will contact you to schedule delivery so you can be there to receive it. If you can't be home, you can usually have someone else (18+) sign on your behalf.

What if my order arrives damaged?

For freight bikes: inspect the crate before signing. If you see visible damage, note it on the delivery receipt before signing — that's how we file a freight claim. If you find damage after unboxing, take photos immediately and email us at contact@senditcycleshop.com within 48 hours.

For parts: same idea — photos within 48 hours of delivery. We'll work with you to either replace the part or refund.

Do you charge restocking or return shipping fees?

For unused parts in original packaging returned within 30 days for any reason: no restocking fee, but the customer covers return shipping. Once installed, parts are non-returnable.

For order changes or cancellations before shipping (wrong card, changed mind, ordering error): we deduct a 3% processing fee from the refund. Credit card processors don't refund their processing fee back to us, so we can't absorb that cost on top of the canceled sale.

For bikes specifically: returns after delivery are handled case-by-case. Once a bike has been ridden, it can't be resold as new. If a bike arrives damaged or defective, that's covered by warranty and we handle it at no cost to you.

If we made the mistake (wrong item shipped, damaged in transit, defective on arrival), no fees apply — we cover everything to make it right.

Why is shipping cheaper for some parts than others?

Real shipping costs scale with size and weight, not price. A throttle in a small box costs us about $10 to ship. A wheel in a wheel-sized box costs $50-80. Rather than charge a flat shipping fee that overcharges small-part buyers and undercharges wheel buyers, we use three tiers that roughly match the actual cost of getting the part to you.

The shipping cost on my order seems off — what should I do?

Email us at contact@senditcycleshop.com or call (925) 261-8996. Shipping calculations are usually right, but edge cases exist (oversized addresses, multiple-item orders with mixed sizes, etc.). We'd rather sort it out before you complete checkout than have you over- or under-pay.

Shipping questions are exactly the kind of thing we want to hear about before you order, not after. Email contact@senditcycleshop.com or call (925) 261-8996.
