The RFloXa RAB53RV is a serious rear shock upgrade for the lightweight e-moto class. Where OEM shocks typically use a single-tube design with combined oil-air damping, the RAB53RV uses an external nitrogen reservoir with oil-gas separation — the same architecture found on high-end motorcycle and mountain bike shocks. The result is more consistent damping under sustained hard use, better small-bump compliance, and less fade over long rides.
Three independent damping adjustments let you dial the shock to your setup. Low-speed compression (LSC) controls the response to gradual inputs like pedaling motion, weight shifts, and rolling terrain. High-speed compression (HSC) handles rapid impacts like drops, square-edge hits, and G-outs. Rebound controls how quickly the shock returns after compression. Together they let you match the shock to your weight, terrain, and how aggressive you ride.
Construction is built for real off-road use. AL6061-T6 forged aluminum upper mount, AL6061-T6 alloy main tube, 42CRMO main shaft, and 55CRSI spring wire — all durable materials chosen for sustained impact loading. The C-ring retainer spring base keeps the spring locked during hard riding, and the easy-remove spring design simplifies servicing. A rubber bladder in the air chamber reduces heat-induced damping fade during long rides.
Available in 450 lb or 550 lb spring rates. Pick 450 lb for riders under ~170 lb or general trail use, 550 lb for riders over ~170 lb or aggressive off-road use. Preload is limited to 10mm — running more than that causes spring deformation and side wear that damages the shock body. If you're not sure which spring rate fits, contact us before ordering.
